’til death do us…plan?
Posted by Sara in Weddings.
Here we are, nearly one month away from W-day. It’s been a long, winding road, but we’re almost there, with most of our sanity in tact.
D and I got engaged last summer, shortly before my birthday. We knew that we wanted to get married in the fall, and were fine with a longer engagement. In fact, a little over a year felt like the perfect amount of time to plan, prepare, and anticipate the day. I’m completely impressed/amazed at the people who are able to pull together really amazing weddings in just a few short months, but we didn’t want that kind of pressure (i.e., me freaking out because there doesn’t feel like there’s enough time).

Show: The Closer
Episode: “Live Wire” (4×04)
You Can Watch It: Mondays at 9pm on TNT
This week on The Closer , Brenda and Priority Homicide take over a case involving an unidentified man who has been shot in an alley while wearing a wire. Obviously, not so good for the unidentified man or his family, and seeing as how the victim was discovered by Brenda’s favorite LA Times reporter, Ricardo Ramos (see “Controlled Burn” 4×01), not so good for Brenda either. After spending much of the start of their investigation trying to figure out if the victim was an informant for one of the various law enforcement branches working in Los Angeles, Brenda and the rest of PHD discover that the guy was a real estate agent who got fired and turned to selling drugs to make money for his family. How…noble? Unfortunately, while trying to figure out who the victim was and because she discussed the case at home with her FBI-employed fiancé, Special Agent Fritz Howard, the FBI took a special interest in the case. TV Rewind | Comment (0)So much for goals…
Posted by Kate A. in Mii and my Wii Fit.
So it has become quite clear that there’s no way in hell I’m achieving the original goal I set a month an a half ago. The day we set up the Fit, I set my goal to lose 10 pounds in two months. I think this is a fair goal, and if I were more concerned about losing the weight, I’m sure I could have reached it. But I now have about 2 weeks left til the deadline and I’m still hovering around my original weight. In fact, I haven’t left a 4 pound radius of my original weight at all.

Show: Brooke Knows Best
Episode: “House Party” (1×03)
You Can Watch It: Sundays at 10pm on VH1
The rest of the television world came crashing down this week because of VH1’s Brooke Knows Best . After I watched this spectacle, my whole body—knowing that I would not be able to sustain anymore blows—went into full shutdown mode and I could not watch anything else besides Law & Order reruns. Oh, yeah, it was that bad (I’m sure after this week I will have made a full recovery and will be able to watch everything because of my dearly loved DVR). This week’s episode, in addition to nearly destroying my faith in the entire entertainment industry, proved that there is no doubt that the budget for Brooke Knows Best includes a writing staff. Brooke, Glenn, and new roomie Ashley decided it was time to throw a housewarming party for themselves. I mean, they’re young, beautiful, and have the most expensive penthouse in the tri-county area, so why not? Obviously, the first step is to show a montage of the brilliant trio buying party supplies. After a near fall-out between Brooke and Ashley-and-Glenn about the age-appropriateness of many party favors, the colors of pink and white were chosen at last. The second step was to find a cute stranger on the beach for Brooke to invite to the party to be her unknowing date. The trio landed a seemingly normal-looking kite surfer. The last step was to make sure that there was to be some sort of disaster guaranteed to take place during the party—not before, not after, during. Continue reading »
