Christmas Theatre Plans Thwarted :(

So, it is finally Christmas time. Presents, alcoholic eggnog, and cookies! But, for me it is all about squeezing in time between visiting family and friends to see a movie that will fulfill my Award Season Madness. This weekend is going to be a tough one.

If the world was a perfect place, this is how my movie viewing plans would work out. Today, Christmas Eve, I would wake up early and go to work. Then, I would do gift-exchange with my folks in the early evening followed by a midnight showing of my choice. It is what I did last year. I went and saw Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and thought it would be nice to have this as a tradition every year.

Well, upon further investigations, I found out that there is not a midnight showing of any movie around here. The latest show in some places starts at 7:40pm. 7:40! What the H, people? It is okay, I can come up with a Plan B.

After comparing work schedules and required family and friend commitments, the only time my boyfriend and I are available to go would be Sunday afternoon! And this is assuming that I don’t get Rock Band 2 for Trentmas. I don’t know if I would want to leave the house, ever, if I got that gift. Oh man.

I am going to stick by my guns here and make a commitment to go this weekend to see Doubt. Oh yeah, that is the movie I have chosen to kick off this contest. The way the nomination trends are going right now, it looks like they are going to be the leader of the award-pack. I am really excited to watch it. Next on my list will be The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon.
