Video of the Week: “Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On)”

Once and a great while, two musical geniuses come together to make beautiful, spectacular music. Then, they take that creative energy and maybe make a music video or two. Here is an example of the complete opposite.
“Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On)” is an extraordinarily crappy song by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. (Ahhh, you know, Alison Krauss….the one who sang the most explicit/hideous christmas song ever!) The video for “Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On)” is clearly filmed on a stage studio filled with treadmills and decorated with merchandise from a party supplies store. Which totally makes sense because when I think of rock legends and country superstars, I think of wacky crazy inflatable blow up guys and disco balls!
I seem to remember a time with Alison had shorter and darker hair. A little frumpy and a little fat? Oh yes, that is true. I guess she is just another victim of a starvation diet and Jessica Simpson hair extensions. Beautiful.
The best part of the video belongs to Robert Plant at exactly 2:47 seconds into the video and for a few seconds after. He showcases the “power” of his voice and kinda sorta meows at Alison, along with some wonderful improv cat scratching arm movements. Breathtaking.

whoa whoa whoa. i’m going to have to disagree here. i think that song is pretty great… his meowing aside. they have some excellent harmonies. i can’t speak to the video, but i do enjoy the song. but that’s cool!
