Textbook Crisis!
Posted by Krystal in Book Blog Entertainment and Pop Culture.
Once again, another fall semester has passed and I am left with the folders filled with tons of notes I’ll never use again and old textbooks. Textbooks have always been a dilemma. I am on the fence about this issue. One part of me wants to become a hoarder and keep every single book and build a grand library that Niles Crane would be jealous of. The other part is a cheap monster and wants to get reimbursement if textbooks are not used to full capacity. After some careful consideration (read: pro and con list), I have decided to return two of my textbooks and keep two.
The lucky textbooks that I am keeping are texts for my biology course, Evolution and Behavior. Both of the books were helpful and filled with really interesting information, some of which I did not get the chance to read during the semester. I plan on keeping them and imagining a day when I would need to use them or actually open them again.
The two I am returning are my Algebra book (enough said) and my Journalism textbook. My Journalism book is a story in and of itself. I originally bought the book before class started but found out it was the wrong edition and twenty dollars cheaper. I exchanged it for the correct text and then opened it once. I had one reading assignment and then it rotted away for the next three months in the back of Gryffindor (my Chevy Blazer). I officially decided that I am returning it, with the hope of getting some of my money back. I think even getting a dollar would be a profit considering that it means it is one less dollar out of my pocket that goes to winter semester books.

Just as an update for all of you faithful readers, I got $43 for my Journalism book. I was very pleasantly surprised!
