So much for goals…
Posted by Kate A. in Mii and my Wii Fit.
So it has become quite clear that there’s no way in hell I’m achieving the original goal I set a month an a half ago. The day we set up the Fit, I set my goal to lose 10 pounds in two months. I think this is a fair goal, and if I were more concerned about losing the weight, I’m sure I could have reached it. But I now have about 2 weeks left til the deadline and I’m still hovering around my original weight. In fact, I haven’t left a 4 pound radius of my original weight at all.
According to the Wii, I’m slightly overweight. But the Wii does not know how I’m built, so I don’t put much stock in this observation. I’m pretty happy with my weight. I wouldn’t mind losing the ten pounds, but I also wouldn’t mind not having to pay money for new jeans, because I’m telling you right now, if I lose 10 pounds, my jeans will no longer stay up. They barely do already thanks to my lack of hips. But since I just bought these particular pants (3 pairs actually, and imported from the US because apparently the UK gap doesn’t believe in extra long), I can’t justify buying more. Not when I already need things like jackets and sneakers.
I guess there’s no other good way to set goals on a computer that can measure your weight and balance, so this doesn’t bother me. It could look at how well you’re doing in the yoga exercises and assess you based on that, but that may have to wait for another Wii Fit game.
The Fit may not be causing me any weight loss, but it is making me pay attention to how much physical activity I get and how flexible I am. I think I might have overdone it a few days ago because my leg went all weird on me, but for the most part, I do feel better.
My walk to work has also just increased because the office moved, so now I walk 45 minutes each way. So my new fitness plan involves a lot of walking, swimming once a week, doing a good long Wii Fit workout at least 3 times a week, and eating all my lovely vegetables.
I’d say that overall, it’s going pretty well.
