Dear Undecided Voter, (aka my final plea to the insane)
Posted by Kate G. in US Election 2008.
Before I begin, let me set up the assumption I’ve made about you. Stop me if I’m wrong.
Due to the fact that you’re undecided, I’ve deduced that you probably don’t make more than $250,000 a year. I can safely assume this because if you were making that much money, you would be:
A. …a registered Republican, trying to protect all of your money from the grubby hands of the lower-class (like Joe the Unlicensed Plumber, who had already donated to McCain’s campaign before that little chat with Obama), or
B. …a Democratic politician of some sort.
As such, this letter is a friendly reminder that just because you may want to be rich does not mean you are. Similarly, just because you want to be rich does not mean Republican policies apply to or help you at all, no matter what they may say. For example:
- “Obama wants to RAISE TAXES!” No. It’ll actually be a tax cut for you. The only people whose taxes will go “up” are the people making more than a quarter of a million dollars every year. And, in all reality, they won’t even go up for those Americans; the taxes will just go back to what they were before Bush cut them.
- “Obama wants to spread the wealth around.” Yeah, he does. And there’s a very good chance that you would be getting some of that spreadage.
- “Obama wants to turn social security into a giant welfare organization.” Don’t be fooled by Republican buzz words like “welfare;” it’s merely a scam to make you think about lazy, poor (brown) Americans stealing your hard-earned money. In all actuality, if McCain was president, you’d probably be ON welfare, with the amount of help he’ll be giving your earning bracket. And, oh yeah, most people on welfare in this country are white. Minor detail.
In short, McCain’s platform has no provisions made for you, no matter how much money you would like to make some day. If they’ve made no effort for you, why should you even consider them as your national spokesperson?
Do American a favor: stop voting above your means and below your morality. Vote with us, and we all win. Vote against us, well…you’ll probably still win economically, since there’s no way in hell we, the decided voters, are going to let this garbage happen again.
Hopefully yours,

Ya but if the Dems win then they won’t ban gay marriage. And that would mean being gay is okay. And that could turn me gay!
