President 2.0
Posted by Lindsay in US Election 2008.
A lot has changed in eight years, and I’m not talking about the war or the economy. I’m talking about something light and fluffy and equipped with a puppy cam.
Yes, since Bush took office, the Internet has grown. Will our next President take advantage of this?
Barack Obama inspired more young voters to get involved in the election. Use of the Internet could potentially keep these young voters involved in politics and aware of what is going on around them more than ever before. Could the Internet keep the President accessible and accountable to the people? It would at least guarantee some additional staff positions in the White House…
CNN’s “Obama may have to give up e-messaging” ponders whether or not the Commander-in-Chief will give up use of his BlackBerry and whether or not he’ll go through withdrawal if he chooses to do so. But why should he? I’m sure Obama would be okay with the archiving of his BlackBerry emails as per the government policy-why strip the man of his precious PDA? I left mine at home and these past four hours in the office have been unbearable, so I can’t imagine four years!
I could be over-thinking things, but then again, I can’t do much else right now since I’m CrackBerryless. (Yes, I could do work. Key word being could.) Still, wouldn’t it be nice to have a Presidential Podcast? I know I certainly miss his campaign tweets…
