After graduation, Liz worked as a paralegal which had nothing to do with her majors in French and English. So, she quit on a Friday and started teaching French that next Monday. She is currently teaching in two middle schools in Maryland. In her free time she joyfully dotes on her "son," a 3 year old black lab.
Lauren was born in a tiny little river town in Northern Maryland where nothing ever happened, ever, and went to an amazing but equally tiny college in a river town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she quite enjoyed herself and somehow managed to come away with a degree. Since then, she decided to look for a change from 'tiny river town' and instead moved to one of the largest metropolitan centers in the United States. She currently lives happily in west Los Angeles with her husband and cat, and is expecting her first child soon. She also still harbors the likely somewhat unhealthy love for the band Incubus.

They set off fireworks in the delivery room, so I was born with shell shock. Grade school didn’t work out for me—I was the only kid who wanted to make Lego dystopias. After high school my parents put me in a box and shipped me to a support group for ex-Goth kids where we were given daily injections of Iggy, Lou, and David. No Bauhaus, no Depeche Mode, just Iggy, Lou, and David.
Weaned on a steady diet of mistakes, I grew into a body not unlike all the others. My brain is my best friend, even if he does suffer from a rotary problem that prevents him from sitting still. I spend my free time juggling spirit, appetite, and reason. I stuff myself full of everything that keeps me from slitting my wrist with Ockham’s Razor.
All current mishaps will one day be jammed into an autobiography entitled, It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time .
Beth may be humming "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English?" on a daily basis, but at least she's doing it somewhere sunny. After graduating from Washington College with said B.A., she moved to Pittsburgh to study library science; from there, she hopped to Denver and threw herself headlong into job-hunting. In between knocking on every library door in the city, she's either deconstructing sci-fi television for fun, drinking way too much tea, or contemplating running away to Hollywood to work as a screenwriter.
Talk about living a double life! Stephanie is a registered nurse and home care company owner by day…and romance enhancement specialist by night. She has been a women’s health nurse for 15 years, and left the hospital scene after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and re-evaluating her hopes and dreams. She now helps people age gracefully while staying in the comfort of their homes, with her home care company, Comfort Keepers . She also works 2 nights a week helping women put sparks back into their love lives and start unique in home businesses of their own. She currently lives in New Jersey with her very satisfied husband and their 6 children.

When not planning the wedding from hell, Marielle enjoys sewing, writing, and kicking ass on her little sister's MarioKart Wii. Although she graduated from a hoity-toity journalism school last spring, people still think she attends the environmental college around the corner. Maybe it's the so-worn-out-they're-practically-rawhide leather sandals?

For years, Sarah has collected countless magazines, scouring the pages for interesting articles, fun images and just plain good ideas. All this time, she’s also been dreaming of becoming part of a smart, funny, quality women’s magazine, so of course she’s thrilled to have her chance with Lucy. An avid reader and editor, Sarah loves nineteenth century novels, the stage and long walks. Her other obsessions include Fiona Apple (the singer and her iPod—affectionately of the same name), dancing, singing, food blogs, cupcakes, holidays, fashion, the beach, and her wonderful family and friends.
Sarah graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English literature. She hopes to become a professor of English literature one day but, until then, revels in all of her opportunities to read and write.
Sara works for a medical publisher in the NJ/PA area. She knows nothing and everything about nurse percepting and often feels compelled to ask people she randomly sees in scrubs about this experience. During the rest of her 17.5 hours a day, Sara searches the interweb, answers Lucy emails, writes fiction, poetry, and personal essays, rescues rabbits, quotes Pulp Fiction, and spends time with her wonderful husband, Donnie and our newly adopted bunny, Em.

AJ spends more money on DVDs than she does on food. She cannot survive without the following: her copy of The Quotable Slayer, the Britney Spears catalog, a DVR, all 3 Law & Orders, Wikipedia, Nine Inch Nails (Halos 11, 19, 24, and 27), thumbs for texting, transcripts of 30 Rock episodes, Netflix, all seasons of Gilmore Girls and Buffy/Angel on DVD, Post-It notes, Amazon.com, and a credit card. AJ believes "cable television" and "an internet connection" should go without saying. She would have liked to include a list of every television series she watches, but you don't have that kind of time. In conclusion, AJ Star is obsessed with television. There is always a chance that television is actually obsessed with AJ Star, but it's too invasive a procedure to find out.
Stalking With The Stars
Jill has a B.A. in political science and sociology, but as is common for recent graduates, works a meaningless dead-end job unreleated to either field.
I've been writing for many years, and for most of them I've not shared my work, my thoughts, or my life in the public realm. My change of heart has come from the realization that I was given a gift and that not sharing that gift defeats the reason it was given to me. I've been inspired and loved by many people who have encouraged me over the years to "come out of the dark," and it is to them that I owe my gratitude and recent success in professional writing. To all of them I say, thank you. They will never be forgotten because without them, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. I have a beautiful little boy who has taught me more about true love and life that I could ever teach him. Being his mother has been the greatest blessing I could have ever received. I watch his innocence and wonder and am reminded of what truly matters. I have built a successful career as a software engineer. Recently, I have ventured into the daunting world of professional writing. I hope you enjoy my work as much I’ve enjoyed writing them!
